A Manteca man has been convicted of child molestation in Calaveras County.

John Dunaway was sentenced to 18 years in prison Wednesday in Calaveras County Court for molesting two Calaveras County children.

County District Attorney Jeffery Tuttle says a seven-year-old girl was molested at least three or more times, and a 10 year-old girl was reportedly molested at least once. The acts took place between 1996 and 1998. They were reported to authorities in June of last year.

Dunaway´s plea of guilty to all charges alleged in the case took place during the first day of the trial. He was lead away from the courtroom in handcuffs.
