Visitors to Stanislaus National Forest are encouraged to snow-shoe and cross country ski in a winter wonderland during a series of special programs near Dodge Ridge.
Stanislaus National Forest Interpretive Specialist Joy Barney says the program on January 29th, “Life Under a Blanket of Snow”, will feature interesting information on the critters that thrive in the forest during wintertime.
On February 5th Barney will lead a talk entitled “Winter Wonderland”. She says the presentation will highlight a century of winter survival and activity in the nation´s forests.
People interested in attending the programs should meet at the Crabtree trailhead near Dodge Ridge at 10 a.m. on January 29th and February 5th. The programs are free to attend.
