Lake Tahoe´s kokanee salmon are back on track.
After two years of lower than expected salmon runs, officials say this year´s spawn is shaping up to better than normal.
They estimate 60-thousand to 80-thousand fish will make the run up Taylor Creek on Lake Tahoe´s south shore this fall.
The public can view the spawn at this weekend´s 15th annual Kokanee Salmon Festival.
In a typical year, about 40-thousand adult salmon go up the creek to mate, lay their eggs and die.
Last year, Forest Service officials say only about five-thousand salmon made the trip.
