People have already begun lining Washington Street with lawn chairs, in the backs of pick-up trucks and on flat bed trailers to view the 2002 Mother Lode Round-Up Parade. The fun gets underway at 10 a.m. sharp this morning.
Nearly 200 Parade entries will march, motor and trot their way from Restano Way north through downtown Sonora to the Red Church at the end of town.
Sonora Police say a number of surface street will be closed this morning for the parade, including the intersection of Washington Street and Highway 108 and cross traffic at Restano and Mono Way. Those streets were closed at 8:30 a.m.
South Washington Street from Snell, and North Washington Street to Williams is also closed to traffic. Police anticipate all roads to be reopened by 1 p.m.
