A Jamestown woman severely burned in an early morning fire Tuesday continues to be listed in critical condition at UC Davis Medical Center’s Burn Unit.
County Fire Marshal Kary Hubbard says investigators believe the fire that burnt Amella Ricardo over 60 percent of her body to be accidental, but the probe into the cause continues.
Hubbard says the investigation will take some time since they have not yet been able to talk with the victim.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the Tuesday morning blaze in the Jim Brady Road residence. Minimal fire damage was done to the house.
Ricardo’s boyfriend, Willie Johnson, was treated for burns to his arms and feet at Sonora Community hospital and released.
