The force is with them.

More than 50 young Star Wars fans answered the call from “Jedi Knight” David Simmerly this morning at Heaven for Kids Children´s Park on Greenley Road in Sonora for a Jedi Training Camp.

The fun theme camp is the kick off event for the county library´s summer reading program. Simmerly, with the help of Star Wars movie characters like Darth Vader, put the young Luke Skywalkers through the paces of light saber skills, using the force, and defending the galaxy.

Simmerly says the real purpose of the day´s activities is to get kids interested in reading books through the county library´s “Fun in the Sun” summer reading program.
