Some Overdue Traffic Tickets Eligible For Discount
Sacramento, CA– Some people who have long-overdue traffic tickets may be eligible for a discount.
The Associated Press reports that as part of a statewide amnesty program, California court officials say a limited number of traffic violators are eligible for a 50 percent discount if they pay their tickets during the first six months of next year.
The state’s Administrative Office of the Courts which runs the program, also has a number of other restrictions.
Officials say only tickets that were due to be paid before January 1, 2009 are eligible. Parking citations, driving under the influence, reckless driving and cases where restitution is due are not eligible for the discounts.
Six million tickets could qualify, even with these restrictions.
