Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Officials say the little girl has died and now her father will face homicide charges. Sheriff’s Officials report the three month old girl was taken off life support last night around 10:15 p.m. and doctor’s at Oakland Children’s Hospital pronounced her dead.

The Father, 26 year old Kevin Boehmer, was arraigned yesterday afternoon in Tuolumne County Superior Court. Boehmer has plead not guilty to assault on a child under the age of 8 resulting in coma/brain damage charges.

Tuolumne County District Attorney Michael Knowles says he will be filing new charges early next week. Knowles says, “The investigation is ongoing and there will be an autopsy. The nature of the injuries indicated to be the cause of death is non-accidental and support a homicide. The Father has been charged as the responsible party and will now face the amended charge. The child has a number of documented injuries that are not consistent with accidents.”

Knowles says Boehmer’s bail has been increased to $200,000. He also says no charges will be brought against the baby’s mother.

Boehmer’s preliminary hearing is set for January 11th at 8:15 a.m. in Department Four of Tuolumne County Superior Court.
