Inmate Assault In Calaveras Jail

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — One inmate is recovering from a pencil to the forehead injury after an incident Saturday inside the Calaveras County Jail.

Correctional officers say 23-year-old Shaun Jusa of San Andreas had a verbal altercation with 28-year-old Conway Ingle of Copperopolis.

Both men were housed in the general population unit of the jail.

During the altercation, Jusa threatened to stab Ingle. Jusa waited for Ingle to enter the recreation/television area, and did just that, using a pencil to stab him in the forehead.

Ingle received medical attention while Jusa was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.

Jusa has been isolated from other inmates.
