CCWD Proposes Policy Changes
San Andreas, CA — A proposed change in the way the Calaveras County Water District does business will be the topic of a public meeting Tuesday.
The Engineering Committee will meet at 2 p.m. in the district boardroom to hear public comment on a policy to require testing of sewer laterals upon sale of a property or at least every eight years.
The change will reduce the amount of inflow into the wastewater system, which is causing treatment, storage and disposal issues at wastewater treatment facilities.
The change is a result of proposed state regulations requiring mandatory inspections of all residential and commercial sewer laterals.
A copy of the policy is available for review at the district office in San Andreas and online at ccwd.org.
