For the second time in a month, an Amador County bank has been robbed. This time the suspect remains at large. On Friday afternoon, the Amador County Sheriff´s Office responded to an emergency call from the Bank of Lodi in Plymouth. A teller at the bank told ACSO deputies that the male suspect had fled on foot after entering the bank shortly after 3 p.m. and presented a note demanding money. The note reportedly also stated that he was armed with a gun.

ACSO deputies and investigators surrounded the area, while an air unit from the California Highway Patrol and an investigator from the Amador County District Attorney´s Office assisted in the search, which came up empty handed.

The suspect, who escaped with an undisclosed amount of currency, was described as a white male adult, in his twenties, approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium build, with blond hair, blue eyes, clean shaven, no accent and no visible scars, marks or tattoos. He was reportedly wearing a dark colored baseball cap, blue wind breaker, white shirt, blue denim pants and black and white shoes.

Surveillance cameras from the Bank of Lodi captured images and video of the suspect. Anyone with any information regarding this crime or the identity of this suspect is asked to contact the Amador County Sheriff´s Office at 223-6500.

Friday´s bank robbery in Plymouth follows the November robbery of the Bank of Amador in Jackson. A suspect was caught and arrested in that robbery and the stolen money was recovered. In late September a bank robbery in Valley Springs resulted in a high speed chase into Jackson and the arrest of a suspect.
