Sponsored by:

Columbia, CA — A 61-year-old Columbia woman is hospitalized after she was hit by a car on Parrotts Ferry Road.

Leslie Wright was waiting to cross the street on the corner of Broadway and Parrotts Ferry when she noticed a friend of hers stopped at the intersection in a pickup truck.

54-year-old Bobby Carr was waiting for a gap in traffic to make a turn onto south bound Parrotts Ferry Road.

They chatted briefly and according to CHP Wright began to cross the street and was standing on the double yellow lines when Carr got a break in traffic.

He merged onto Parrotts Ferry Road, unaware that Wright had crossed the road in front of him.

The two collided and Wright landed on the hood of the truck and then fell to the pavement.

Wright was airlifted to a Modesto hospital where she is being treated for potentially life-threatening injuries.
