A Mariposa County man that confessed to starting a series of blazes has been sentenced to 37 years in state prison.
California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Captain Greg Grizzell says Brian Chambers told investigators that he started fires when he felt depressed.
Brian Chambers was arrested last September and booked into Mariposa County Jail for setting a number of fires dating back to 2000. The arson fires scorched almost 1,350 acres and caused minor injuries to some fire fighters. Chambers has also been ordered to reimburse the state $1-million plus for the cost of fighting the fires.
