Calaveras Winery Honored

A Calaveras County winery has been given a high honor. Wine Enthusiast Magazine has given the French Hill Winery´s 2002 Barbera a 92 rating. Vintner Rod Ruthel, owner of the winery, says ratings above 90 are extremely rare. The wine was sampled by an editor from the magazine last fall. French Hill´s Barbera wine sells for $39 a bottle. The winery is located along Highway 26 in Mokelumne Hill.
