Calaveras Jumping Frogs Goodwill Tour Launching

Angels Camp, CA — Starting this week, Calaveras County’s world-famous jumping frogs are kicking off their annual goodwill tour.

It helps build momentum leading up to the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee, taking place May 14-17.

Over the coming weeks, the Frog Jump Committee handlers will be transporting the frogs to several events, starting with a Fair Mixer on Thursday, April 30, and to local schools and other community gatherings throughout the region. Some of the highlights will include the State Capitol Frog Jump on May 5 in Sacramento, hosted by Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil, and the Government Center Jump on May 12 in San Andreas, with local officials.

“The goodwill tour is a fun and meaningful way to share our heritage and invite everyone to be part of the excitement,” said Laurie Giannini, Fair CEO. “We’re especially thrilled to celebrate 50 years of frog jumping at the State Capitol and look forward to another unforgettable Jubilee.”

Last year’s Capitol Jump drew over 50 elected officials, legislative staff, and media members, all helping to raise awareness about the yearly event in Calaveras County.
