Ione Youth Injured In Dirt Bike Crash

San Andreas, CA — A 16-year-old from Ione is suffering from serious injuries sustained in a dirt bike accident Saturday.
CHP says the juvenile was riding a Honda XR-80 dirt bike in the “Clay Pits” near Valley Springs at about 3:00 when he attempted a jump.
Officers say the the juvenile lost control of the bike upon landing and hit a tree. After the accident, the teenager reportedly rode the motorcycle to a friends house where he was met by his mother.
He was immediately transported to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital where doctors discovered severe internal injuries.
The youth´s name is not being released because of his age.
