Slick Roadways Lead to Mother Lode Accidents
A single vehicle went off the roadway this morning.
It happened around 7:45am on Parrott´s Ferry Road about a mile north of the natural bridge.
Witnesses say a female driver flipped her Volkswagen, but wasn´t seriously hurt.
The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department and the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of fhe accident.
Officials remind drivers whenever the roadways get slick and wet, it´s a good idea to slow down.
Sunday morning, 20-year-old Mike MacDonald was westbound on Highway 4, west of Upper Power House Road.
As he was coming down the Utica Grade, the CHP reports the Ford F-250 pickup MacDonald was driving lost traction, and slid on the highway.
The vehicle went across the road, over an embankment, and then rolled over several times, before finally hitting a tree and coming to rest.
The truck was totalled, MacDonald was not injured.
