Pattison Fire Costs In Millions

As of 8 a.m. yesterday morning firefighters had officially extinguished the last of the Pattison Complex Fire.

Damages and suppression costs were released for the devastating wildfire that blackened nearly 2,700 acres and destroyed 17 homes in the Valley Springs and Burson areas last week.

Total damage to property, structures and vehicles from the Pattison Complex Fire is estimated at $3.7 million. Calaveras County officials say about 75 percent of that amount came from the homes lost.

Suppression costs for the Pattison Complex Fire were estimated at about $3.4 million as of Tuesday. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection declared the blaze Calaveras County´s worst in more than a decade.
