Sacramento, CA — Voters in the state were in support of half of the ballot measures proposed during the General Election.
Seven of the 14 were approved (barring any late shifts in results).
Those passing were Proposition 1 (bonds for housing affordability), Proposition 2 (Increasing state’s rainy day fund), Proposition 3 (extending existing tax on high incomes for school and healthcare funding), Proposition 5 (changes to the election recall process), Proposition 37 (loan program for middle-income home buyers), Proposition 38 (bonds for immunology medical research), and Proposition 42 (prohibitions on new state personal property taxes).
Those that failed include Proposition 4 (would have repealed prohibition of public funding on election campaigns), Proposition 39 (voter ID requirements), Proposition 40 (one-time tax on billionaires), Proposition 41 (audits and exclusions on new state taxes), Proposition 43 (new restrictions on raising revenue for government services), Proposition 44 (requirements on community health clinic spending), and Proposition 45 (environmental review modifications for certain projects).
