Fire Burns Grass Near Valley Springs

Firefighters in Northwestern Calaveras County battled a 3-to-5-acre wildfire in along campo seco and Watertown Roads area Saturday morning. The blaze was first reported around 10 a.m. and was burning in grass and dead brush north of Valley Springs.
Fire officials at the scene say a bird shocked on a power line fell into the dry grass starting the fire.
