Attorneys for F-B-I agents and Oakland police officers say that officers did not violate the constitutional rights of two Earth First! activists. The activists, Judi Bari and Darryl Cherney, were both injured when a bomb went off in their car in 1990. Police arrested them after the bombing on suspicion of possessing and transporting the bomb, but no one was ever charged. They filed suit alleging false arrest, illegal search, slanderous statements and conspiracy. The case was sent to the jury yesterday.
