Pac Bell Fined For Billing Errors

A newspaper reports today that state regulators will fine Pacific Bell a record $27 million dollars for billing people for service they didn´t ask for and never got.
The San Francisco Chronicle says California´s largest telephone company billed tens of thousands of customers for high-speed Internet service they never ordered or received.
The fine is awaiting formal approval by a PUC administrative law judge and commissioners. It´s the largest ever levied by state utility regulators.
