Firefighters are edging toward victory over a wildfire that hit Lake Tahoe´s tourist-jammed south shore on the July Fourth weekend.
They´re holding the human-caused blaze to less than 700 acres. The fire scorched rugged, forested land in the Heavenly Valley ski resort area above Nevada casinos at the mountain lake. Full containment is forecast for Saturday. Control is expected by Wednesday.
