Fire At Tahoe Contained

A wildfire near the California-Nevada border at Lake Tahoe´s southeast shore has been fully contained. The 670-acre fire, blamed on a careless smoker, was expected to be fully out by Tuesday evening. The cost of fighting the blaze that broke out Wednesday in dense forest near lakeside casinos is estimated to reach three million dollars. The blaze caused thousands of people to evacuate homes and condominiums in the nearby Kingsbury Grade area. No homes were damaged and no injuries were reported.
