Cogdill Brings Forestry Summit To Sonora
State Assemblyman Dave Cogdill will host his second annual Natural Resources Summit Friday at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. US Congressman George Radanovich will deliver the Keynote address at 11:30. He chairs the House Subcommittee on National Parks, Recreation and Public Lands.
The summit will address protection of forestlands from catastrophic wildfire with remarks from state and federal officials, and Texas A&M professor of Forest Sciences Thomas Bonnicksen.
The afternoon session will feature public comments on the Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment, which is now under review by Pacific Southwest Regional Forester Jack Blackwell. Registration starts at 7:00 a.m.
