Victims ID´d In Tahoe Crash

Victims of a plane crash that started a forest fire near Lake Tahoe have been identified as Lafayette, California, businessman Christopher Lombardo and teacher Judith Lohstroh. Lombardo was identified by the El Dorado County sheriff´s department as the pilot and Lohstroh as the passenger in the single-engine Piper aircraft that crashed Monday. Lombardo owned Chris Lombardo Equipment in Lafayette. Lohstroh was a grammar school teacher in Richmond. Investigators say the plane, en route to Concord, went down in a remote area three miles south of Echo Summit shortly after takeoff from the South Lake Tahoe airport. The crash sparked the 380-acre Showers fire. Firefighters contained the blaze Wednesday night.
