Governor Signs Nuclear Waste Bill

Governor Gray Davis has signed one bill about nuclear waste, creating standards for the state´s first low-level nuclear waste facility. Two other bills concerning radioactive waste are still on Davis´ desk. One would require an inventory of low-level nuclear waste stored in California, including hospitals and laboratories that produce the waste. The other bill would ban the dumping of any debris with residual radioactivity at municipal landfills.
