There have been concerns about children who push themselves or are pushed by parents into training too much. Single-sport, year-round teams are very common now. Developing bones and joints are susceptible to overuse injuries. Talented children can burn out with lack of variety. Different sports can put pressure on kids to gain or lose weight which leads to poor or dangerous eating practices and body image problems.
