Are men at risk for breast cancer?

Yes, but their risk is much lower. In men, breast cancer accounts for less than one percent of all cancers. Statistics from a few years ago documented 1500 new cases per year in men and 200,000 new cases per year in women. Breast cancer in men is generally diagnosed at a later stage than it is in women but the treatment options are the same for men as they are for women. If a man notices a lump or enlarging breasts, he needs to consult his healthcare provider.
