How common is diabetes?
According to the Center for Disease Control 2011 Diabetes fact sheet, 25.8 million children and adults in the United States (8.3% of the population) have diabetes. Of the 25.8 million with diabetes, 7.0 million people are undiagnosed. An additional 79 million have prediabetes.
