Triple Digit Temperatures Expected
Sonora, CA — Get ready for the heat.
With possibility of temperatures reaching the triple digits this week, the Tuolumne County Health Department is encouraging you to be prepared. Make sure air conditioners are working properly, and drink 16-31 ounces of water if you must work out in the sun. You also want to consume some food, juices or sports drinks to replenish electrolytes. Also, try to complete the rigorous work during the early morning or evening hours. Cooling centers include public buildings such as the local libraries.
In the lower elevations of the Mother Lode, temperatures are expected to reach triple digits today in some areas, drop to the eighties and low nineties by mid-week, and then increase back to the triple digits by the coming weekend.
