“One goal of the retreat is to give our local area a healthy glimpse of the art of storytelling, so we planned numerous workshops and public storytelling concerts,” said Smith, “Ducey and Erentawill will both provide an opportunity for all of us to experience storytelling at its finest.”

The 2nd Sierra Nevada Regional Storytellers Retreat takes place will take place in Murphys with workshops and coaching sessions for regional storytellers.

“This is our second such gathering,” said Smith, “Our workshop sessions were filled up during the first gathering in 2014. We urge people to register now as the number of participants will be limited.”

The free “Story Slam” begins at 7 pm Friday October 14th, in the Old Schoolhouse, 65 Jones St., Murphys.

Then on Saturday afternoon, evening and Sunday evening there will be three public storytelling concerts at the First Congregational Church of Murphys.
