Supervisors To Discuss Fire Safety And Resiliency

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County has been removing hazard trees and working to promote forest health over recent years, and there will be a discussion regarding priorities moving forward.

At Tuesday’s board of supervisors meeting there will be talk about any future actions the county leaders would like to pursue. In addition, there will be a presentation by the Southwest Interface Team (SWIFT) about accomplishments over the past year and plans for the coming period. The SWIFT team was established in 1999 as a collaboration of multiple agencies working toward implementing and maintaining a strategic fire defense system.

Also on the agenda will be a vote to hire current Deputy County Administrator Daniel Richardson as the new General Services Director. When the recession hit about 10 years ago the county made the decision to bring the oversight of areas like Facilities Management, Information Technology, Libraries and Recreation into the County Administrator’s Office. Those departments will be under the General Services Director moving forward.  The starting salary for Richardson will be just over $138,000.

In addition, at 11am, there will be time set aside to recognize the 20-year anniversary of the First 5 Tuolumne County Commission.

Tuesday’s meeting starts at 9am. It will be the first full meeting for new supervisors Ryan Campbell and Anaiah Kirk, and District Five Supervisor Karl Rodefer will serve as the new board chair.
