Saturday is Passport Day
Calaveras will participate in “Passport Day in the USA” this Saturday.
John Funk, Deputy Clerk for the Clerk-Recorder’s Office of Calaveras County, was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Calaveras is joining the Department of State in celebrating Passport Day in the USA 2013.
The office will be open 10:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday, March 9th to accept passport applications from anyone. Usually the office at 891 Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas is open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 12:00pm by appointment.
On Saturday the eastside door of the Administration Building, near the Sheriff’s office, will be open. Signs will be out, directing people where to go.
U.S. Citizens must present a valid passport book when entering or re-entering the United States by air.
U.S. citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda must present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. Government.
The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
