More Contact Needed
Tuolumne, CA — More contact is needed between the citizenry and governmental officials.
That was the “bottom line” of the Wednesday evening Town Hall meeting hosted by District Three Supervisor Teri Murrison for a dozen of her constituents at Summerville High School’s Library.
According to Murrison those in attendance demonstrated a concern for lack of jobs and the continuing economic downturn.
However one item that appeared for the very first time in these meetings was the desire for closer contact with governmental officials, namely the Board of Supervisors. The suggestion was made for quarterly county wide meetings between the Board and the citizenry.
Murrison admitted that Sheriff Jim Mele has met with tremendous success with his Town Hall meetings.
Still another Town Hall or supplemental meeting has been announced by the County. Wednesday, March 10 at 6:30pm District Two Supervisor Paolo Maffei will host his constituents at the Phoenix Lake Club House, 21448 Paseo de los Portales.
