Oliver Fire Continues To Spread In Mariposa County
Mariposa County, CA — The Oliver Fire approximately 14 miles southeast of Mariposa and 17 miles northwest of Oakhurst has now consumed 2,789 acres.
According to Battalion Chief Rick Vogt of the San Marcos Fire Department the fire is now 60 percent contained with full containment scheduled for Saturday, July 5.
Three moderate and 13 minor injuries have been reported. Cost of fighting this fire to date has reached $7.85 million.
No structures have been affected and no evacuations have been ordered.
The fire is the result of a June 21 lightning strike initially reported at 5:10pm.
