Sonora Police Think People May Be Getting The Message
Sonora, CA — Saturday evening and early Sunday morning Sonora Police officers along with the Sheriff´s Office and the Highway Patrol conducted a DUI-Drivers License checkpoint west of Greenley Rd. on Mono Way.
Of the 771 motorists who were stopped only two were cited; one for driving while under the influence of a controlled substance and the other for driving with a suspended license.
Lt. Mark Stinson stated this is a far cry from the last DUI-Drivers License checkpoint at approximately the same location a couple of months ago. At that time a half-a-dozen vehicles had to be towed because the drivers had suspended licenses.
