Dorrington, Ca — A pair of small vegetation fires have been burning today in the Stanislaus National Forest.
According to Forest Service Information Officer Pat Kaunert, the first broke out around 9am, and is seven miles NE of Dorrington. Kaunert says the ½ acre fire is 75-80% contained.
The second blaze is 11 miles directly east of Long Barn, and broke out early this afternoon. On scene are two engines, two prevention units, one helicopter and one water tender. There is not a size estimate at this time. Kaunert says crews are hitting the fire hard in an attempt to keep it small.
