What is colon cancer?

As cells regenerate, they die off and are replaced by new cells. Colon cancer begins when cell regeneration goes wrong and cells grow out of control forming a tumor. When a tumor is caught early, surgery and other treatments can be used with very good outcomes. When colon cancer is not caught early, the cancer cells can spread to other parts of the body, often the liver, bones and lungs.
