David Allen, MD

David Allen, MD, is board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been practicing in Sonora since 2004. Dr. Allen grew up in Turlock, Calif., and graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He has 30 years of experience in internal medicine, having also practiced in Redlands, Calif., DeQueen, Ark., and Oroville, Calif.

Matthew Personius, MD

Matthew Personius, MD, is a family practice physician who specializes in caring for the elderly. His practice, Sierra Housecalls Medical Group, Inc., (SHMG) is focused on providing greater access to needed medical services for the elderly and homebound of Tuolumne County. Dr. Personius graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1994 and completed his residency in family practice at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. After his residency, Dr. Personius and his family moved to Sonora in 1997 and he became Medical Director of the county run medical clinics. He now works fulltime making house calls for SHMG.

Shauna Burrow

Shauna Burrow is the Bereavement and Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice of the Sierra. Hospice has a bereavement team, providing support groups, a lending library, telephone support, and several events throughout the year including a special support group for coping with the holidays. All of the grief support services at Hospice are provided free of charge for anyone in the community who is grieving. Shauna moved from Eureka, where she worked in the medical field for over 20 years, and has been with Hospice of the Sierra since 2012.

Anna Eberhardt-Bertrand

Anna Eberhardt-Bertrand is the clinical supervisor for Sonora Regional Home Health and works out of the Angels Camp branch office. She has been with Sonora Regional Medical Center for over five years. Anna has also worked in the intensive care units at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton and Mark Twain St. Joseph’s in San Andreas, as a revisit nurse with First American Home Health and as a supervisor with United Home Health. Anna enjoys working in home care because she can help patients and their caregivers back from illness to living in their community and as a supervisor, she works to assist her staff to achieve this goal. Anna grew up in Jackson, Calif., and away from work she enjoys visiting Big Trees State Park and vacationing along the Oregon and Northern California coast.
