Jamestown Revitalization Project Will Create Traffic Delays
Jamestown, CA – A revitalization project in Jamestown will stall traffic through the end of the year.
The Jamestown Gateway and Main Street Revitalization Project is set to begin on Monday (10/14) and continue through Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Tuolumne County Public Works has hired Sinclair General Engineering Construction, Inc. of Oakdale to complete the work. Crews will remove and replace damaged sections of sidewalk, curbs, and gutters, problem trees, and planting of new trees along Main Street. That includes various improvements in Rocca Park and landscaping and irrigation system revisions at the Highways 49/108 median.
Public works officials highlighted these project details:
- Work is anticipated to take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays
- Main Street will be subject to traffic restrictions for the duration of the work.
- One block of Main Street will be closed at a time, with a detour provided.
- Main Street will be open to through traffic on Saturdays and Sundays, although on-street parking may be restricted within the areas of work.
- Businesses on Main Street will remain open during construction, and pedestrian access to businesses will be maintained.
Motorists are asked to follow all construction signs and traffic control personnel in the cone zone.
