State air quality officials have approved a plan by San Joaquin Valley air regulators to cut dust and soot in the valley.

The California Air Resources Board said yes to the plan yesterday despite objections from environmental groups. Environmental activists say the plan doesn´t go far enough to clean the valley´s air.
