Angels Camp, CA — County residents are rallying around a 14-year-old boy who was left in a coma after a mountainboarding accident last month.

Bret Harte freshman John Winings crashed on his board while riding with a friend at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds.

As of Tuesday, Winings was listed in good condition at Modesto´s Memorial Medical Center.

A trust fund has been set up at US Bank in Angels Camp to help pay for his medical expenses.

A spaghetti fundraiser dinner will be held at the fairgrounds Friday. Tickets are available at the door.
