An overturned big rig blocked traffic on Mono Way in Sonora just after 8:30 p.m. last night.
CHP reports a loaded semi truck hauling 130 yards of bark and mulch was headed eastbound downhill on Mono way into the curve near the Peppery restaurant when the trailer overturned and slid sideways across the Sullivan Creek Bridge, blocking all lanes.
CHP says the driver of the chip truck, Herbert Payne of Sonora, was not hurt in the mishap.
Traffic was diverted onto the new East Sonora by-pass. The road was open again after 1 a.m. this morning.
