A motorcycle rider from Morgan Hill was killed Saturday afternoon when he hit a truck loaded with firewood on Highway 108 near Kennedy Meadows.

The CHP says 40 year-old Michael Giancola was speeding on 108 near the Sonora Pass, slid on a curve into the path on the on-coming truck. The driver of the truck was not injured.
