Mi Wuk Man Arrested On Gun Charge

Twain Harte, CA — A Mi Wuk man was taken to Tuolumne County Jail after a sheriff´s deputy allegedly found a loaded Colt 45 handgun in his vehicle.
21-year-old Jair Scott Richards was booked on a charge of possession of a loaded/concealed firearm in a vehicle.
According to the Sheriff´s Department, the suspect was pulled over early Saturday morning in Twain Harte at the intersection of Meadow Lane and Joaquin Gully. The initial stop was for unsafe backing, a violation of California Vehicle Code. Elsewhere in the vehicle were two additional magazines for the weapon. Both contained rounds of ammunition.
