Summerville High School Considers Bus Fees
Tuolumne, CA — Summerville High School students who ride the bus may soon have to pay a fee to get to school.
That was one proposal discussed by the Board of Trustees Tuesday night. The district is looking for ways to fill a budget gap of $86,000.
No specific figures were discussed at the meeting. Several schools in surrounding counties charge bus fees in addition to the Twain Harte -Long Barn district which charges a $30-a-year fee for elementary school students.
Other ideas discussed by the board included a cut in medical benefits for board members, doing away with the Junior ROTC program and cutting certain administration positions.
