Police say hail and freezing rain may have contributed to a crash involving a tour bus with 47 passengers on board near Long Barn Saturday afternoon. The bus tipped over in the westbound lanes of Highway 108 and closed the highway for three hours while crews worked to tip the bus back onto its wheels where it was eventually towed away. Although there were no fatalities, passengers were put onto buses courtesy of Black Oak Casino and shuttled to both Tuolumne General Hospital and Sonora Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The bus was being utilized as part of a middle school field trip to the Sierra foothills and originated from Oakland, California.
