Cow Killed in Crash, Motorist Not Injured

One cow was killed and a Valley Springs man escaped unscathed in a pickup verses bovine accident on Warren Road in Calaveras County on Friday.
The CHP reports that 25 year old Brandon Gerlitz was driving westbound in dark, cloudy and cool weather when the cow appeared in the middle of the roadway. Gerlitz struck the cow with his ´99 Dodge Dakota.
The animal was put out of its misery by a responding CHP Officer. Gerlitz was not injured.
