Sonora, CA — The Sonora Police Department put out a statement that it is investigating a report about a family cat being shot in the area of West Sunset Street.
The PD notes that the animal was shot with a small-caliber gun on January 30. The owners transported the cat to a local veterinarian for treatment. The cat had to undergo surgery to remove its leg, but it is expected to make a full recovery.
The PD confirms that no other similar incidents have been reported at this time.
